We had just left the Anne Frank House, and walked across the canal to investigate the shops. One of the group spotted this on the door frame of an entrance to a private home.
The latin text translates to “Beware of Dog” on a Delft tile reminiscent of a mosaic found in the ruins of Pompeii. Someone scrawled the Star of David on the tile with a black Sharpie.
